Opening a new DEWA connection is a quick and convenient process when done online. Here's how to set up a new DEWA account online:
1. Online Application Submission
Visit the official DEWA website and navigate to the section for Activation of Electricity and Water (Move-In). You may need to log in to access all online services.
Select the appropriate customer type from the dropdown menu, which includes options like Expatriate, GCC National, Investor, and UAE National.
Choose the account type based on whether you're an owner or tenant.
Provide the required information, such as Ejari number (for tenants), tenancy contract details (for Free Zone residents), and DEWA premise number.
Click "Continue" and follow the steps to complete the new Move-In DEWA account setup.
2. Submit the Required Documents
Prepare the necessary documents, including a valid Title Deed (for homeowners), Emirates ID, Trade Licence (for commercial customers), and passport copy (for GCC Nationals or Investors).
3. Pay the DEWA Fees and Associated Charges:
To finalize the registration, pay the applicable fees, which include:
- Security deposit: AED 2,000 for apartments and AED 4,000 for villas.
- Activation charges: AED 100 to AED 300 depending on meter size, plus additional fees.
- Thukher and Sanad cardholders receive a 50% discount on activation charges.
- VAT is charged as applicable.
4. Service Resumption:
After completing the registration and fee payment, expect the supply to be activated within 15 hours.
